IELTS Research Grants 2010-2011

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is now accepting applications for Research Grants. Individuals and educational institutions with relevant experience are invited to apply for funding to conduct applied research related to English language proficiency testing. Funding up to $22,000 (15,000 GBP) per research project will be awarded to a select number of proposals this year. Identified areas for research are: 
• test development and validation
• investigations into the use of IELTS by institutions
• case studies on the impact of IELTS on candidates and users.

NFLC Language Opportunities

The National Foreign Language Center (NFLC) at the University of Maryland is currently working on a project that provides adult language learners with interactive online tools to reinforce their foreign language skills and recruites educated native speakers of the following languages (or individuals with equivalent proficiency levels) to create online activities in their native languages using provided software and/or to find authentic reading and audio passages, to record audio files, and to perform various editing tasks in these languages:
